British producer Hurdslenk arrives on Vault Recordings with four tracks of intensely propulsive techno. Following recent releases on Key Vinyl and Frenzy Recordings, he maintains his dancefloor-focused trajectory with ‘The Myst’ EP. The hard-hitting percussion, paranoid crescendos and understated vocal textures of ‘Rain’ start with a direct intention, before the dissonant chords and energetic claps of ‘Sirens’ add further four-to-the-floor fuel. The rapid hi-hats of ‘Reversed’ soar above powerful kicks and eerie vocal chops, before the melancholic atmosphere and magnetic rhythms of closing track, ‘Focal’, somehow manage to maintain the EP’s frantic tempo. There's no room for nonsense here.
