Manchester-based producer Hidden Spheres is a key name within Rhythm Section for a reason: having already released three EPs on the label, he has developed his sound and fully reached an authentic state of creative fluidity. His residency at Public Records has allowed him to shape an EP perfect for any dance floor, refining a deeply Detroit-influenced house style, with echoes of early Kerri Chandler and Ron Trent, ideal for those head-down, hands-up moments.

With five tracks that perfectly master tension on the floor, it's hard to pick a favorite.

"Come On, Yeh" harks back to the New Jersey house sound with dub organ chords, punchy 909 drums, and a sublime bongo loop.

"Don't You Wanna" welcomes house dancers with a relaxed yet very distinct groove, re-sampled pads, and a deep spoken phrase that gives the track its name.

Opening the B-side, "Get Down" hits directly in the subs, with an unmistakably thick bass, shadowy strings, and ample use of the iconic M1 "Organ2" organ bass preset.

"I Feel Good" follows, incorporating police sirens, 808 snares, and enveloping pads to build a glorious deep house track crowned by a sharp, bright motif that keeps the party moving.

The B-side closer, "You Don't Know," slightly lowers the intensity but maintains that exquisite tension through classic house piano chords and another devastating percussive loop.

Hidden Spheres returns here to his purest house roots, with an EP that remains true to the classic sound. He has built a solid and characterful work, supported by deep spoken samples, impeccable use of dub sirens, and grooves capable of convincing any club to invest in bigger subwoofers.
