French DJ and producer Hemka makes an impactful solo debut on Mutual Rytm with Introspection.

Born in Marseille and based in Paris, Hemka has been shaping her vision of techno for over a decade, steadily expanding her international presence with music on prestigious labels like Token. Her sound fuses the raw energy of 90s techno with modern textures: fast-paced, groovy, and with a subtle psychedelic tinge. By incorporating her own voice, Hemka adds a deeply personal and authentic layer that resonates with both body and mind. Following the strong reception of her track Fragrance on the Federation Of Rytm III compilation, this potent new EP is a powerful reflection of her bold, emotional, and visionary artistic voice, and marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter with SHDW’s Mutual Rytm label.

Abyss opens with tight, pounding drum funk accompanied by relentless, eerie synths, while ghostly voices add darkness and anxiety. Time is another polished, minimalist piece of linear techno that hits hard, and I Can't Shine layers paranoid vocals with high-speed glitches and elastic percussion to ensure maximum impact on the floor. The excellence continues with The Bad Place, featuring powerful kick drums and shadowy synth atmospheres that lift you up and keep you moving. Finally, Unchanged sizzles with static electricity as wordless vocals refract through the mix alongside ethereal synths and icy hi-hats.
