German producer Philip Platzer —Gockel— takes a decisive turn away from the path marked by his origins with Lucky Bounce, delving into his recent departure from hardtechno and more punishing schranz sets, to orient himself towards the deeper pulses of dub and Detroit-inspired techno, trading warehouse brutality for shadowy textures and smoky atmospheres.

With the precision of someone who has experienced both sides of the tempo divide, the EP represents a refined, elegant, and still powerful evolution, where “Cobalt Drive”, “Atlas” and “Ardent” retain that characteristic “digging” kick drum so evocative of the schranz era; though here everything is enveloped in beautiful spectral chords, like harmonic and structured blankets covering the bone.
