Gigi FM - Virgo Space Acid [Sea~rène]

Following two initial releases on Sea~rène, GiGi FM returns with Virgo Space Acid, a deeply personal and sonically potent exploration of transformation and healing. Rooted in the energies of 2025, the Year of the Snake, this four-track EP channels the reptile's mystery and intuition, intertwining the archetypal forces of Virgo: the healer and the alchemist.
Through driving beats, hypnotic acid sequences, and voice-infused textures, Virgo Space Acid mirrors a journey of renewal, self-affirmation, and inner power.

From Berghain to The Bunker New York, GiGi FM has been recognized for her ability to channel movement into sound. With Virgo Space Acid, she further hones her craft, working with fewer elements but bringing them to their full expressive potential. She explores the entire breadth of her voice, molding it into textures, atmospheric layers, and even percussions, while, on the other hand, reinterpreting classic 909 drum machine sounds into something entirely her own. This EP is a statement of discipline and liberation, where minimalism meets profound transformation.

The opening track, Calibration, sets the tone with its mantra-like intention: an invitation to realign and tune into one's own energy. Built on a powerful bassline, nostalgic but forward-moving synths, and GiGi’s own spoken word—"A breath holds time, calibrates space"—the track creates a moment of clarity before the journey begins.
Next is Mercury, embodying the trickster, the messenger, the shapeshifter. Playful and urgent, its skipping synth sequences move like conversations in transit, with ascending tones pushing the track forward, advancing toward a restless ascension that mirrors Mercury's role as a bridge between realms, both celestial and internal.
The title track, Virgo Space Acid, is the wormhole: the mental battle, the transformation. With a devastating 303 bassline, spiraling beeps reminiscent of bird song, and a powerful classic 909, it’s pure tension and release, an acid-soaked journey through movement and evolution.
Closing the record, Floresta offers a sensual and rooted moment of reflection. Named after the Waking Life Festival stage where GiGi experienced a crucial shift in her healing process, the track reflects the scene with dub chord sequences, emotionally charged ascending pads, and percussive vocal elements. Like the purple and pink veils floating over the dance floor at sunset, Floresta is both a farewell and a prelude, a hazy horizon where one chapter closes and another awaits.

With Virgo Space Acid, GiGi FM continues to expand her sonic language, deepening her connection between body, rhythm, and transformation. More assertive, more urgent, and at the same time deeply intuitive, this is a record of movement, clarity, and personal empowerment.
