A new EP by Toy Tonics. It’s the second one by Venezuelan house DJ & producer Gee Lane. Includes amazing remixes by NYC regulars musclecars!

Gee Lane's debut EP "Metamorphosis" (with remixes by Demi Riquísimo and Divorce From New York Remix & PIEK) came out last October. But as Virginie (her real name) is a constant name in the Toy Tonics crew now and plays almost every weekend at one of the Toy Tonics jams around the globe, it makes sense to drop a follow up quickly.

Gee Lane, originally from Caracas and now in Barcelona, is a passionate DJ and vinyl digger with an extraordinarily positive energy and attitude. A DJ diva in a good way. A unique personality with a very strong style (in music but also as a person) and a very elaborate ability to read and play with dancers. Like the first EP, this one was also recorded in Barcelona and Berlin with a little help from Robin Braum from Athlete Whippet. The music well reflects her roots and passion for everything that came out of New York's dance culture. Influences from 80s promo disco scenes can be heard, as well as the 90s Body & Soul/Francois Kervorkian/Joe Claussell universe. In fact, Gee Lane, after being raised in Caracas and musically educated by her father from a very early age (a composer & musician himself), moved to New York at a very young age in the late 90s where she fell in love with the HOUSE scene. And especially everything that was happening at the famous and influential club 'Body & Soul'.

This culture heightened her curiosity to become a DJ (and vinyl digger herself) who is not only interested in house music, but wants to explore other genres like funk, hip-hop, jazz and Latin sounds and include these vibes in her DJ sets. A vinyl collector (and long-time record store employee) ever since, she is known for her musical eclecticism that leads her to mix everything she wants...

Gee Lane is now a constant member of the Toy Tonics crew and already playing at Toy Tonics jams all over Europe.
