Formed in Edinburgh in the early 90s, Fresh & Low helped define the British interpretation of deep house with a dusty, groove-led sound that balanced warmth and restraint. This reissue brings back a little-known session from 1997 and restores it with new mastering. ‘Sea of Desire’ sets the tone: loose, nocturnal, and with dub touches, featuring floating pads and almost imperceptible vocal textures. ‘Espresso’ picks up the pace with more rhythmic bounce and filtered chords, while the B-side delves deeper into the atmosphere: ‘Where The Wolves Once Roamed’ and ‘Where The Wolves Return’ are hypnotic and almost submerged, connecting with that same hazy headspace of early Chicago or Prescription releases.
