Considered by many as one of house music’s most memorable moments, born out of the Black LGBT scene in Chicago at the legendary The Warehouse and recognised as one of Frankie Knuckles’ first productions, “Your Love” is an absolute classic. A track that stands tall amongst the greats, immediately recognisable and a record that only gets better with age.

Written by Jamie Principle and originally released in 1986, “Your Love” has gone on to become a seminal recording over the past few decades. Initially an underground club anthem, it was famously re-interpolated into The Source feat. Candi Staton crossover hit “You’ve Got The Love”, and more recently re-produced as part of the Director’s Cut project, which sought to update various classics for the modern dance floor. It’s a track that has stood the test of time. Working with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation and Eric Kupper, SoSure Music now presents two brand new remixes for 2020 courtesy of Darius Syrossian and Alan Dixon.

First up, house aficionado and legendary Sankeys resident Darius Syrossian brings his unique blend of beats to the remix package. With releases on labels such as Get Physical Music, Viva Music and Hot Creations, his output is heavily influenced by some of the greats — think of the best selectors from Detroit, NYC and Chicago — making him perfectly placed to take on this challenge. Darius introduces a swirling house groove and old school breakbeats to his cut, keeping the energy high throughout, generating a feeling of euphoria and aiming straight for peak time.

Alan Dixon, for his part, has rapidly ascended the scene in a short amount of time, already building a name for himself within house and nu disco, with releases on labels such as Glitterbox, Permanent Vacation, Running Back and True Romance. His remix aims straight for the heart of the disco dance floor: a solid beat dominates the mix with a particular energy and a slight nostalgic air. With an ethereal interlude and raw emotion, this version updates the classic with respect, while bringing a fresh and contemporary twist.
