Few people in the world have not been touched by the work of Frankie Knuckles, eternally considered "The Godfather of House." A Grammy winner, Frankie had a street in Chicago named in his honor, at the site where the legendary Warehouse once stood, to commemorate the first Frankie Knuckles Day on August 25, 2004.

Five years ago, Frankie passed away in Chicago on March 31, 2014, leaving behind one of the greatest legacies in house music, spanning almost four decades. He is now being commemorated once again by his long-time partner and collaborator, Eric Kupper, who will release Part II of the special commemorative album on vinyl around this date.

Eric, himself an experienced DJ, producer, and songwriter, worked closely with Frankie on many of his most iconic classics, in addition to having personally participated in over 116 singles that reached #1 on the Billboard Dance chart. After many years of working together, in 2011 they created "Director's Cut" and dedicated themselves to producing original releases and remixes based on the classic "Def Mix" sound, sharing equal credit for all their creations.

The album includes some of Director's Cut's best works, with the "Re-Directed" version of the classic "Baby Wants To Ride," as well as their reinterpretations of tracks by Inaya Day, Sybil, Hardsoul, and Lou Rawls — You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine (Kenny Summit, Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper Unreleased Anthem).

This release is in collaboration with The Frankie Knuckles Foundation, an organization that works to continue Frankie's legacy, focusing on music in schools, care for homeless LGBTQ youth, AIDS research and prevention, as well as diabetes research and education.
