Flying Moth - Tides EP [Soul Quest]

In the latest Soul Quest adventure, the label puts the journey in the hands of Italian producer Flying Moth, who delivers a rich palette of groove-laden cuts, perfect for bright days and sun-drenched sunsets.

Flying Moth is the new alias of Niccolò Terranova, a producer who has already demonstrated his affinity for jazz-tinged dance music through projects such as Justnique, among others. Flying Moth presents itself as his most personal project to date, and his EP Oh Oh, released by Apparel Music, highlights his ability to create soulful, danceable music with a meticulous presentation, where every note breathes emotion and sincere moments.

Fusing multiple genres and eras, Flying Moth's music seeks to generate new experiences through rich musicality and profound compositions. Tides represents the next step in his journey and fits perfectly with the sunny landscapes and dance floors that Soul Quest proposes.

The EP's opening track, "Take You Higher," created with Renato Patriarca, is a top-notch groove. With enough time to immerse the listener in the mix, the first break reveals an enchanting main melody that embraces the chords. As it progresses, the track becomes even more magical, particularly featuring a memorable flute solo.

"Bobby's Here" shares a similar spirit, albeit with subtle differences. The chords twist and dance, while melodic arpeggios cascade over a hypnotic rhythmic foundation. It's a track that invites you to dive into its layers to enjoy a joyful and constant momentum that seems to have no end.

"Please, Keep Drinking With Me" begins with a typically optimistic vibe. A swingy drum pattern sets the pace for an avalanche of bright melodies to emerge. The track maintains its energy through a solid mid-line, with ethereal and inspired vocals, and a unique keyboard solo halfway through that adds character and variety.

Then comes "Always Groove In You," a collaboration with Gondii, which starts without delay. A sober yet dynamic groove intertwines with a deep bassline, while a spectacle unfolds on top: inspired keyboards and vocal snippets that never let the track stagnate, constantly evolving.

The closing track is by Toronto Hustle and Sean Roman, who remix "Please, Keep Drinking With Me," bringing an avalanche of flavors: bright keys, powerful bass, and infectious breakdowns.

Tides is only Flying Moth's second EP, but it already hints at a promising discography. For now, this release contains all the ingredients to get both dance floors and living rooms moving.
