British supergroup Flock returns with their anticipated second album, Flock II.
Composed of an exceptional lineup including Bex Burch (fresh off her solo debut album on International Anthem), Sarathy Korwar, Tamar Osborn (Collocutor, Dele Sosimi, Unknown To Known), Danalogue (The Comet Is Coming / Soccer96), and Al MacSween (Kefaya), the new recordings demonstrate Flock's ability to expand the boundaries of the compositional process and create unique pieces based on their collective spirit.

Recorded amidst the serene rural landscapes of Wales in 2022, Flock II represents an evolution from their debut album, which was recorded in a single day at London's Fish Factory studio. Gathering in the magical setting of The Druidstone, a coastal retreat in West Wales, the group embarked on an intensive week-long recording session. There, they devised singular "starting devices" for each musical piece, drawing inspiration from unconventional structures and atmospheres.

From diagrams based on shapes and repetitive patterns, to a rotating lamp that projected mottled lights and a mobile app that generated intense strobe effects in front of each musician, each tool served to establish a unique state of mind and approach to composition.

Studio Owz, located in a converted rural church, offered the ideal setting for their creative exploration. The result is compositions ranging from the intense to the hypnotic, inviting the listener to embark on a deeply personal journey and weave their own narrative within an ethereal soundscape.

The result of a strong and joyful bond between five of the UK's most outstanding musicians, Flock II presents itself as another essential recording, free of genre or category. The cover illustration is by the brilliant Muhammad "Rofi" Fatchurofi, who provides the perfect artistic counterpoint to Flock's creation.
