Flamingo Pier - Beneath The Neon [Razor-N-Tape]

New Zealand disco-boogie outfit Flamingo Pier set down roots in Brooklyn with their new Beneath the Neon EP out on Razor-N-Tape. Known for their East London parties and huge hometown festival, plus previous releases on Soundway, this New Zealand collective delivers a trio of new tunes that solidify and expand their signature bright-eyed indie-soul dance sound.

Lead single, How 2 Feel, showcases the band's more club-oriented side, with a pulsing house rhythm section, angular synth layers, vibrant horn lines, and chanted vocals. Beneath the Neon and Remedy are more in familiar Flamingo Pier territory: buoyant indie-disco anthems, with incendiary vocal hooks, funky guitars, and crisp production by Luke Walker.

Rounding out the EP are remixes from Chicago house legend Glenn Underground and RNT co-founder JKriv, whose remix features a special guest appearance by afro-boogie king Steve Monite.

Brimming with hazy sunshine, Beneath the Neon is the perfect soundtrack to soak up the last days of summer.
