fka boursin is a DJ and producer originally from Bristol, UK.
Previously known as DJ Boursin, he is renowned for his deep house with ambient undertones, in which he explores the political dimensions of clubs and identity politics.

Now under the Scissor & Thread label, fka boursin presents two cuts of deep and introspective electronic music.

The original version, Listless Intertext, is a hazy journey through ambient soundscapes, choppy rhythms, and half-spoken conversations, gliding for 12 minutes in a slow and steady evolution.

“Listless Intertext is a track centered around the ‘failed’ use of cheap vocoder software attempting to process explicit words and phrases throughout 11 minutes,” explains fka boursin. “Instead, the vocoder’s output rendered all words indecipherable, leaving a thematic vagueness. The final text of the track is simply a surrender to its own limitations, with some French included.”

When label bosses Frank & Tony step in with their Housebeat Dub, they maintain the essence of the atmosphere but introduce a thick, dense groove that conveys the same mood with equal effectiveness.

“Our remix is strictly for the dancefloor,” comments Frank, “an extended psychedelic reinterpretation, perfect for late-night or sunrise moments.”
