Felipe Gordon from Bogota is one of THE names of the moment in the ever-growing jazz-influenced house and broken beat scene. This is his second EP on Toy Tonics and represents a musical step forward for him: he started including more vocals and collaborated with Colombian singer Paula Pedraza. Gordon's music has something special: with his background as a Colombian (and all the great musical legacy that entails), and as an indie rock musician (he played for years in bands), he has achieved a very unique vibe.

His tracks have much more groove than most of the sample-based material currently being heard… and his production style is more varied and musically interesting than many other offerings out there. Listen to these four new tracks. Especially the second tool, which brings freshness to the current disco wave: with a punk-funk bassline that could well have come out in 2005 from artists of the Disco-Not-Disco label such as Chicken Lips, Headman or Playgroup. This is post-nineties revival music :)
