Felipe Gordon, Stefan Ringer, Deepest - The Sundowners EP [Upstairs Asylum]

It was always known that when Norm Talley launched his Upstairs Asylum label, it would be synonymous with pure quality. The Detroit man is one of many contemporary flag-bearers for the beloved original 313 house sound and, as his sets prove, he has a knack for selecting the best of like-minded artists' work. Here he does so with a multi-artist EP that opens with a couple of soul-drenched and jazzy deep house tracks from Felipe Gordon. Then Stefan Ringer brings his signature lo-fi house and exquisite synth work on "You Know", while Deepset's "U Got Dat" is a nocturnal piece with a dense and suggestive sensuality.
