Felipe Gordon - Natural Born Climber EP [Shall Not Fade]

An artist who needs little introduction among our more seasoned followers, Bogotá-based producer Felipe Gordon returns with his seventh release on the label. The Natural Born Climber EP sees Gordon continuing in the same jazzy vein as his previous EPs, highlighting his talent as a multi-instrumentalist and his prowess for blending textures into a catchy whole.

The EP starts off just as promised. "The Love" grooves along irresistibly, oozing sensuality and at times caressing the ears with an elegant jazz piano. "Da Ghent Life" is all about funk. A guitar bass snakes under nimble percussion, before giving way to a soul-caressing saxophone breakdown, followed by "More Than Grateful", which keeps the optimistic tone. Finally, the EP's title track is the most rave-oriented. It's impossible not to move to the piano melody and Detroit-inspired vocal cuts of "Natural Born Climbers."
