Felipe Gordon - Keepin' It Jazz EP [Shall Not Fade]

An established and cherished member of the Shall Not Fade family, Felipe Gordon steps up the jazz influence on a fresh new EP for the label. The Colombian based producer and multi-instrumentalist is known for his complex compositions and infectious grooves, and Keepin’ It Jazz does not disappoint.

The record opens with “Analog Only” - a heavily textured beat forms the core of this bass-heavy groover which proceeds at a relaxed pace, drawing the listener further and further in. Equally smooth yet hypnotic, “Continuous Develop” has the heady atmosphere of the chillout room, yet Gordon introduces his intricate dreamy instrumentation and touches of acid to great effect.

The latter half focuses on a delightful bass solo that will have everyone nodding along. The EP’s title track has the more driving house beats, accompanied by delicate jazzy piano, making for a perfect summer outdoor party anthem. “Looking Your Reflection In The Water” is an artful, perfectly emotive piece, gently rising like a tide from poolside piano to a hip-swaying danceable pulse. The record closes with “What You Say?”; funky house with attitude, a sassy bassline, and bursting with energy.
