Falko Brocksieper - Frantic Formula [20/20 Vision]

Falko Brocksieper is a cult German minimalist who was championed by Craig Richards and his Tyrant project. This new EP from 20/20 Vision takes a deep dive into his catalog to unearth a gem that first appeared via Treibstoff Recordings almost 20 years ago, in 2006. "Frantic Formula" is a flowing cut with ethereal sci-fi pads and engulfing rhythms, ideal for late-night warm-ups, while "Outrun" gets more vertical with its messy drum loops and bubbling bass. "Covert Action" is another masterfully languid and elastic rhythm that layers cowbells, wobbly bass, and gentle loops that soon have you locked into the groove. Without a doubt, a well-received remaster and reissue.
