You have to sweat your whole life to earn the right to name your record *Grindmaster*. Whether you’re getting your life partner up close and personal on your living room dance floor, or pursuing brainless entrepreneurship with every fiber of your trust fund, *The Grind* remains a demanding snake-god, leading humankind face-first into its eternal reward.

In this spirit, all of us at Turbo are beyond words grateful that venerable veterans Extrawelt are bringing all of their two decades of experience to bear in shaping this piece of genre-destroying excellence. The German duo open with the chest-pounding EBM of the title track, followed by the angry electro of *Angry Elektro*. And if you think the EP mellows from there, just keep listening to find out how wrong your idea is, because the next track is called *Angry Halibut* and it sounds exactly like what you fear it sounds like. *Grindmaster* culminates with the acid trip doorman fantasy acid track *Save City* and the endless warehouse journey soundtrack *Flunk*.

Those of you who choose not to support your local record store will be rewarded accordingly, as Extrawelt’s own “*Drop Outs in Heaven Remix*” of *Flunk* will be available as a digital exclusive. We don’t really have any problem with vinyl lovers, but you should probably accept the fact that digital music—and by extension, digital exclusives—is perhaps the defining trend of 2024.
