Ernesto Ferreyra - Insight [Cadenza]

Ernesto Ferreyra returns to Luciano’s label with the single “Insight.” “Voltage Poem” showcases a major step forward for Ernesto, a crushing, elastic groove, punctuated by live percussion, maracas, and micro-glitches dancing around the mechanical funk of the bassline. A Jamaican poet expresses himself lyrically, a vocal gem stating, “with my rhythm, with my rhyme, with my rough bassline, with my own sense of time,” while Ernesto takes care of delays and reverbs, enhancing different elements and creating a true journey experience on the track. On the B-side, “There Is No Answer” is another playful slice of lysergic dance. A solid groove and frantic drum pattern combine with deep and melodic chords, while a lone male vocal asks the question (to which there is no answer?), static crackles and radio frequencies buzzing in the background as hi-hats cut crisply to keep energy levels shining. A great comeback from Ernesto and a single that effectively builds anticipation for his second album on Cadenza.
