Erik Rico - The Rare Groove Project EP [Cosmocities Records]

Erik Rico returns to Cosmocities with The Rare Groove Project, a limited edition EP featuring funk and soul-charged covers of groove gems plucked from Matt Soulie's vinyl collection, alongside standout remixes from Gerd, DJ Nature, and Aroop Roy.

The EP opens with a high-energy, powerhouse take on P.J. City's Straight Forward, followed by Gerd's Chicago house-inspired remix, and an alternative, funkier version full of disco-era charm. Rico then reimagines Franklyn's Future Love as an explosive, electrified P-funk blast, while New York's DJ Nature delivers a nocturnal, synth-and-bass-heavy groove.

Rico also transforms Star Lighters' Disco Funk into a high-impact stomper, complete with slap bass and a purple tinge, while UK house and jazz-funk aficionado Aroop Roy closes out the release with a summery, house-flavored anthem for the dancefloor.
