Energize - Piece of Class / Star of The Disco [Rain&Shine]

Rain&Shine proudly presents ENERGIZE, a band from Marin County, California, from 1979. Previously unattainable even for the best DJs due to its rarity, Rain&Shine gives this record an official re-release treatment on a beautiful 7" vinyl 45 rpm double A-side modern soul/disco record. About ENERGIZE (words from Dan Hays - guitarist and songwriter): ENERGIZE emerged in a post-hippie era, when musicians were back to playing covers in bars. However, Marin was still affordable, and it was possible to raise money to buy studio time. This is how ENERGIZE was formed, professional musicians led by outstanding producer and guitarist Archie Williams (son of Archie Williams Sr., a passionate educator, WWII air force pilot, and 1936 Olympic champion), Dan Hayes, songwriter and guitarist, and John Isabeau, lyricist and our executive producer. Currently, John is a successful Hollywood producer, an Oscar winner for a documentary, and lives in James Brown's former home in Las Vegas. The record also features the vocals of a successful blues singer who has asked to remain anonymous. Archie, John, and I now have adult children and some grandchildren, and we are amused that, 40 years later, our self-produced record has found an audience. Amazing!
