SATYA is thrilled to announce the next chapter in its vinyl-only catalog: an evocative EP from São Paulo-based producer, Dru. This record captures the serene yet dynamic energies of Dru's distinctive sound, merging aquatic themes with dub-tinged textures and grooves.

Dru is a producer and DJ with a passion for minimal and microhouse. He has been steadily gaining traction in the scene, garnering support from luminaries such as Mihai Pol, Arapu, and Barac. With previous releases on his own labels, Totoyov and Microdots, Dru has honed a sound that is both personal and universal, reflecting his unique journey.

Inspired by the tranquil beauty of Brazil's pristine beaches, Dru explains that the EP was born during a period of introspection in his life. "I was looking to produce tracks with a more dub vibe," he comments. "The aquatic and fresh feel of the tracks reflects my connection to the sea and the tranquility I find in it." This theme flows throughout the EP, offering the listener a refreshing escape into soundscapes that are as serene as they are complex.

The EP includes two standout originals:

"Lax" captures a moment of serenity in Dru's life, marked by personal harmony and simplicity. The title is an abbreviation of Relax, and reflects the calm state of mind in which it was created.

"Afterbreak" represents a period of transition after a breakup, though the track maintains a contained energy, symbolizing growth, renewal, and moving forward.
Dru draws inspiration from a wide range of influences for this EP, from percussive touches inspired by African reggae to the intricate dub aesthetics of Andrey Pushkarev's Luck of Access label. These elements intertwine with Dru's Brazilian roots, creating a fusion of global sounds with a personal twist.
One of the most exciting milestones during the production process was securing remixes from Nicolas Duvoisin and Superlounge, who enthusiastically joined the project from the early stages. With their contributions, the EP transcends boundaries, uniting dub minimalism with the deep groove of deep house.
