dreamcastmoe - The Lost Tape Vol.3 [Rhythm Section International]

The name dreamcastmoe is, in many ways, synonymous with the Peckham-based Rhythm Section INTL label. Even though this is their first collaboration on vinyl, the journey goes back much further… from early London shows in Peckham to adventures across multiple continents, the DC-London nexus is alive and well, and this recording is a testament to that bond.

Bradley Zero, founder of RS INTL, first learned of what was happening in DC thanks to the godfathers of the current scene: Beautiful Swimmers. Both mentors and references in the DMV area, Andrew and Ari — aka “the swimmers” — introduced Bradley to dreamcast's sound during their first visits to Peckham to play in the now legendary pool hall.

His interest was piqued, and Liquid Deep (PPU, 2017) made a huge splash, quickly followed by Floral Place and then Outer Space/Up 2 U, which came out on Future Times in 2018, solidifying the newcomer as someone to watch closely and putting him on the radar of the world's top music curators.

With a sound that draws from hip hop, house, fuzzy electronica, and DC's own "go-go," dreamcastmoe — born Davon Bryant-Mason — burst onto the scene with a refreshing blend of styles combined with an irresistible personality. With the biggest smile in any room, Davon has the rare ability to subtly capture your attention, whether on stage or in person, and his growth has been completely organic, built on connection and camaraderie.

Dreamcastmoe found a home on the iconic Midwestern label, Ghostly International, but for old times' sake we decided to fulfill an idea born of mutual admiration and a long-standing friendship. Rhythm Section INTL is proud to announce that we will be joining forces for the next installment of the iconic mixtape series: The Lost Tape Vol. 3. We must also thank Sam Valenti IV and the Ghostly/Spectral family for their generosity and understanding, which have allowed us to bring this project to life.
