Just what the doctor ordered...

Next up on Q1E2 Recordings, for the label's fifth release to date, is Dr. Sud. A Rome-born and Berlin-raised producer whose music is a fusion of percussion-centred soundscapes and integrated jazz harmonies, inspired by diverse genres such as electronica, funk, and house music.

On 'Heading South', the broken beat don delivers his specialist percussive sound, fusing all kinds of drums into a synth-wrapped house. The EP explores the undulating cycle from morning to night, back to morning again, inviting you to dance your way through it all.

‘Brina’, a word that in Italian refers to morning dew, perhaps found on a tent at a festival morning, represents daybreak with broken beats. The track breaks and squints into the beginning of the day with spacious kicks leaving room for warm, almost familiar pads and keys.

Then ‘Life Itself’ reflects the day, revolving around an arpeggiated synth that soon gives way to lush keys.

A trip into percussive bliss concludes the A-side in the shape of the magical, grinning 'Evening Breath'. This, as you might have guessed, is where the listener gently crosses over into the fading stages of the day. It captures that last glimmer of light as the sun dips and a slight shiver of the night air drifts down your back.

Then, before you know it, the mysterious night arrives. Flip that B-side over and ‘Tramontana’ will greet you, inviting you to dance deep into the late hours.

By the time you’re there, the rhythmic '3/4AM' will hit the spot as an unforgettable dancefloor moment, brimming with slow-mo Balearic leanings.

Finally, 'Mondgesicht' - "Moon Face" in German - fittingly closes proceedings with deep chill-out vibes. Effortless trumpet murmurs manoeuvre through a wavering sea of percussion and delightful synth solo. The day is here again. The cycle is complete.
