Dopplereffekt - Metasymmetry [Tresor]

Commemorating three decades of their career, Dopplereffekt debuts on Tresor Records with Metasymmetry, due on December 12, 2025. This new release finds its members, Rudolf Klorzeiger and To-Nhan, immersed in a deep sonic investigation, reflecting on structure and pattern in physics and nature, resulting in a harmonious sonic tessellation.

Metasymmetry relates to a kind of second-order reality, found not in the structures of life themselves, but in the rules that govern those structures; an order that exists not just in things, but in the relationships between systems of order. It is a structure of structures, a logic of laws, an abstract unity embedded in the very act of transformation.

Accordingly, the four-track EP reflects this duality. Each side opens with a piece of electronic music in its most precise and immovable form: defined, kinetic, architectural. This is followed by a second composition that dissolves into a light, atmospheric counter-form.

This displacement evokes a higher symmetry: an alignment not of parts, but of principles; a sonic model of the universe's hidden invariance.

Metasymmetry also resonates throughout Dopplereffekt's extended sonic continuum; this is their first release on Tresor under the Dopplereffekt name, despite a relationship with the label and club dating back to their beginnings. In this sense, it becomes the source of an echo reverberating backward in time; its own reflection:
