Dominik Eulberg - Avichrom (Acid Pauli, Isolee, Aera & Etapp Kyle Remixes) [!K7]

A year after Dominik Eulberg’s glorious Avichrom album on !K7 Records, he has called upon a new series of exciting remixes. Etapp Kyle, Isolée, Acid Pauli and Aera all step up for a new four-track EP landing this spring.

Avichrom was conservationist Eulberg’s sixth studio album and another inspired by his love of nature. Each track was named after a native bird from Germany and offered a kaleidoscope of musical colours. Now, that vivid source material is reconfigured for the club by some of the most revered names in the underground.

First up, we have Ukrainian producer Etapp Kyle, known for his stylish techno on labels like Ostgut Ton. In his hands, ‘Gelbspötter’ takes flight with ethereal synths and soft, broken beats. You are suspended amongst the serene, picturesque synths for a joyous ride. Minimal house shaman Isolée is a specialist in intricate grooves and comfortable on labels like Pampa and Playhouse. He brings his mix of ambient melody and underlying grooves to ‘Grauspecht’. It is a deep, undulating, and fluid track with ever-shifting melody patterns and a hypnotic bassline.

Next, we have Ouïe co-founder Acid Pauli, and a versatile live act who brings true craftsmanship and influences from outside the world of dance music to his own work. His take on ‘Grauspecht’ is a beautifully organic affair with nocturnal melodies that unfurl like lullabies over supple, elastic drums. It is dreamy and captivating, perfect for those tranced-out 5 am dancefloors. Last but not least is Innervisions veteran Aera, a producer with a deft touch and a knack for crafting delicate yet impactful grooves, as he proves here. His deep and inviting remix of ‘Schwarzhalstaucher’ is a quiet triumph with subtly uplifting and innocent melodies one longs to hear as the light creeps through the curtains after a night of dancing.

All four of these remixes bring fresh perspectives to Dominik Eulberg’s still outstanding originals.
