Dj W!ld - The Night Owls EP [Trelik]

French house innovator DJ W!ld has explored many stylistic terrains over the years and is now in a stripped-back, minimalist style mode for the excellent Trelik. The Night Owls opens with precise drum rhythms and off-kilter synth washes that hypnotize you while getting you moving. Drunkin' is an energetic cut with well-designed drums wrapped in sub-bass and topped with swirling, blurring chords. Fashionistas is another perfect example of stripped-down body music, with low kicks and little else, but it's enough to keep you captive. Comment On Baise Dans Le Hardcore closes with another blend of physical thumps and enveloping synths.
