DJ Soch - Deep Inside [Chiwax]

DJ Soch, founder of Black Angus Records, is no stranger to ChiWax, having made his debut on the label in October 2023. Interestingly, this is the prolific producer's first vinyl release since then, and boy, is it worth it. The four tracks presented ooze class, blending the analog approach and intergalactic vision typical of Motor City dance music with the tactile warmth of Italian house and the sensibilities of garage-house.

It opens with the elastic synth bass, loose mechanical drums, and spatial pads of "Walking To The Beat," then moves on to the vintage soulful vocal samples and sonic smoothness of the charming "Kiss My Baby." "Lost On My Way," which samples R&B vocals, sits somewhere in between the previous two (with synth sax solos included), while "Soul Deep" is a warm and bright delight, perfect for sunny days.
