Chi-Town’s original bad man, DJ Sneak, returns with his latest selection of loop-driven house jams, presenting five floor-focused cuts on the “Disko Dialogue” EP. A key figure in Chicago’s second wave of house, his prolific career has seen him explore acid house, disco cuts and hypnotic, minimalistic territories. Much — if not all — of that is present here. The title track pairs looped strings and echoed vocals over a thumping kick and snappy snares, whilst “Kick Da Flow” follows a similar vein, albeit with a slightly more restrained approach. “Bottom Acid” picks up the energy with a throbbing 303 sliding over penetrating percussion, whilst “Acid Wunders” delves into more lysergic territory, with a nocturnal groove that relentlessly undulates. The enveloping rhythms of “Elements” close this great EP, with DJ Sneak proving he hasn't lost an ounce of his big-room attitude or production prowess.
