It was 1993 when DJ Skull, from Chicago, first released these four devastating tracks, and we can only imagine the faces of the dancers hearing them for the first time, amidst a wave of softer house variants. Warning: this is still a serious threat on the dance floor today, just as it was almost 25 years ago.

The Southside DJ and DJAX affiliate re-releases the endless tunnel that is “Stomping Grounds,” followed by the more minimalist and stripped-down percussive beats of “Don’t Stop The Beat.” On the B-side, “Stomping Grounds 2” ups the tempo and adds a layer of hypnotic elements over deep tones, while “The Kissing Game” reduces the tension and aggressiveness of the previous tracks with a softer, soulful house swing, guided by that dusty drum machine programming that characterizes Skull's unmistakable sound.
