- “DJ MEHDI: Made in France”, an exclusive 6-episode series on Arte about DJ Mehdi from September 12. DJ Mehdi was a bridge between French hip hop and electro, becoming a key composer, producer and DJ. A true pioneer who helped boost both the French rap and electro scenes in the late 90s and early 2000s. Thirteen years after DJ Mehdi's sudden death, his lifelong friend and director Thibaut de Longeville created and directed this series, featuring archival footage, exclusive interviews and testimonials from big names in rap and electro about their collaborations and relationships with DJ Mehdi.

“More than a compilation, this record is a summary of what Espionnage has achieved over the past two years, from rap 12”s and instrumental 12”s to the remixes I had the opportunity to make. The members of The Espionnage Sound System, including Yvan from Double Pact (although he only appears here in the interlude between “Camille Groult Starr (rmx)” and “Si Tu Savais (rmx)”), have been essential to the development of the label as a whole. The Chronowax distribution team has also been vital for a structure dedicated primarily to independent vinyl production.

By the way, I have to thank Ulysse Genet, who, in addition to lending his name to a track title, suggested the name Espionnage instead of Le Cirque Disques (which was my original idea) and designed the first logo. Many thanks to my team: Olivier Rosset, Charlotte Dutoit, Thibaut de Longeville, Alexander Wise, the 360 creative and marketing teams, as well as X2N, Tom Kan, DJ Gilb’R, Roulé, Crydamoure, Benoît Blue Boy and his daughters Ludella and Amadine; who have contributed in one way or another to what this record represents.
