Fashion Icon, Model, Curator, Historian, Commentator, Activist, Grammy Winner, and, yes, DJ — there are few things Ms. Honey Dijon doesn't do with mastery these days. Much of her accomplishments stem from her passion for clubbing and the art of DJing, from those early parties in Chicago to her role as a global dancefloor ambassador.

Just a few minutes of chatting with Honey reveals that when it comes to records, labels, and releases, she's a true house nerd. Schooled by some of Chicago’s masters, she has a rare knack for bringing the past into the future. This compilation is a testament to her encyclopedic knowledge of old-school underground labels, a journey through the depths of her dancefloor memories. "I'm a big fan of research. So putting this compilation together was basically delving into my dancefloor experiences and unearthing gems I wanted to introduce to people, things they might not have known or even realized existed," she explains.

Thus we find the New York anthem "Keep On Climbing" by Psychedelic Research Lab, released on the label of its producer Scott Richmond’s store, or the London vibes of Sir Lord Comixx's "Soul House," about which Honey recalls: "I heard it when Danny played it at 7 a.m. at Twilo and it was so f***ing weird." There’s also Kingsley O, the Londoner stranded in Connecticut, who brings the Jersey touch with Maydie Myles' brilliant debut single, "Keep On Luvin’," reinforced by "Gettin Hot" by Blaze collaborator Cassio The Cassmaster.

This compilation is a global and multi-generational tour through the rich history of house music. Representing Chicago are Dance Mania's Dance Kings, while Blackjoy and Art Of Tones fly the flag for Paris, and there's even a nod to Blackpool with the Shaboom label. Some of these tracks are forgotten classics, others are basement finds, and it also includes a new track from Honey Dijon, spiced with her characteristic zing and complemented by recent contributions from Wajeed and Kiko Navarro.

Whether on the dancefloor, in the back of a taxi, or relaxing at home with a cold drink (or hot, if you insist), this compilation is made to be enjoyed anywhere.
