The first part of this wonderful new album from Mexican duo Destino Sonido – a fresh collaboration between veteran Juan Soto and up-and-coming vocalist Labibe – had already got us more than excited. Now Part 2 quickly arrives, another summery blend of disco, funk, synth-wave and catchy pop. ‘Ardiente’ is hip-shaking percussive magic, ‘Night Creatures’ offers deeper grooves with immersive sci-fi melodies, and ‘Destino Sonido’ stands out with its stylish synth bass and Donna Summer-esque vibe, while Disco 86 elevates the cosmic energy with a great remix. ‘Somos Espacio’ first appears as a lush ambient track and then transforms into a powerful Italo-disco; meanwhile, Matt FX closes with an excellent deep house rework.
