Dennis Quin - The Liberation [Eardrums]

Dutch producer and DJ Dennis Quin inaugurates his new label Eardrums with the four-track Liberation EP.

Dennis Quin states:
“I am beyond excited to launch my new label, EARDRUMS. The idea was born after someone approached me after a set and said: “You just cured my eardrums.” That phrase stuck with me. Eardrums, drums and rhythm for your ears. I felt it was the perfect name.

EARDRUMS is all about House music, with upcoming releases from new talent as well as established names. The label reflects the music I play in my sets: diverse, dynamic, and never pigeonholed into one sound or style.”

Pushing Harder opens the EP, employing Quin’s signature rhythmic style, with resolute percussion, choppy bass, ethereal vocals and an amalgamation of intertwined synth melodies. The title track, The Liberation, follows, with a more minimal approach based on agile snares, poignant chords and soulful vocal lines with subtle nuances throughout the track.

Then comes Muscle, aptly titled, a powerful tool for the dance floor with saturated kick drums, meandering resonant leads, murky bass, irregular breaks, deep spoken vocals and airy textures. Finally, Tough Beat closes the EP with an irregular and vibrant rhythmic base, nervous bleeps and a cinematic breakdown.
