Amsterdam’s Dennis Quin has spent much of the last decade connecting the dots between the sounds of New York, New Jersey and his home city. He continues in this vein – with a powerful, big-room focus – on “New York Accent”, the dense, energetic opening track of his latest EP for Kaoz Theory.

On “Hard Days Work,” he combines a robust, funky, minimalist house beat with fluid piano motifs and spoken word snippets, before blurring the lines between deep house, ethereal house, and hip-house (to some extent) on “My Amsterdam Legacy,” where hip-house rapper Mr V whispers praise to Kerri Chandler, Masters at Work, and others.

To close out the EP, fellow Dutchman Benny Rodriguez delivers a danceable, infectious, and peak-time ready remix of “New York Accent.”
