The ninth edition of the series, ‘EP9’ stays true to Defected’s commitment to bringing their biggest digital releases to vinyl, delivering an upfront package of house previously unavailable on wax. Kicking off side A with Riva Starr’s remix of Defected anthem Dennis Ferrer ‘Hey Hey’, a tribute to Giorgio Moroder’s crucial sound and the early Paradise Garage house vibe, a serious dancefloor weapon. This is followed by Ferreck Dawn’s ‘By My Side’, a refined house groove with melodic keys, a smooth filtered vocal and undulating rhythm featuring Californian producer Anthony Valadez. Side B opens with John Summit’s ‘Deep End’, a captivating house cut from the young talent that went #1 on Beatport weeks after its release. Closing out the EP we find OFFAIAH, a slick, dancefloor-ready cut with OFFAIAH’s trademark grooving bassline and an irresistible melody.
