Spanish production maestro David Penn takes charge of Side A, kicking things off elegantly with the supercharged vocal house cut ‘Lift Your Hands Up’ featuring Ramona Renea. David’s handclap-and-piano-riff-heavy production style continues onto his remix of the sizzling Idris Elba & Inner City collaboration ‘No More Looking Back’, brimming with summery energy. On Side B, another Defected close friend, Riva Starr, takes the reins. Featuring London vocalist Phebe Edwards, the original version of ‘Love Divine’ opens up, with gradually menacing builds, bubbling synths and spectacular organ breakdowns. This is followed by the deeper, groovier Funk Mix, as it continues to showcase Riva’s intuitive, multifaceted production at its best.
