David Morales presents The Face - Needin' U [Groovin]

David Morales made many great house records in the 90s, but few were as commercially successful as 1998’s ‘Needing’ U’, a massive disco-house anthem that liberally sampled classic tracks by The Chi-Lites and Rare Pleasure. On this re-issue from Groove Records, the Original Mistake version – that filter-heavy loop that formed the basis for the radio edit – is joined by what many consider to be the finest mix: the Boss Anthem version. Curiously omitted from the 1998 UK release, it’s ten minutes of tough DJ Sneak-style drums, restless piano licks, powerfully uplifting disco samples and an overflowing energy. Without a doubt, one of the best disco-house anthems ever made, and more than worthy of a place in your collection.
