D Stone makes his debut on Heist Recordings with a record that proves why he's one of the most promising talents in house music right now.

Chloe Caillet knows. Cinthie knows. SG Lewis and Demi Riquisimo know too. So does Folamour, Barry Can’t Swim, and, of course, Dam Swindle. What exactly are we talking about?

That D Stone might just be the most exciting young producer and DJ in the house scene right now. Oh, and he's also a great guy who says Heist was his dream label to release music on. When we discovered we were mutual fans, it was only logical to sign him for his Time Selection EP: a 5-track record that showcases how cool and catchy underground house can be when done right.

D Stone, born Daan Steenhuizen, has had a meteoric rise in recent years and has just finished his studies at the conservatory, where Lars was one of his mentors. His vinyl debut was on Cecille in 2023 with the anthem Total Unison. He then released on Cinthie's 803 Crystal Grooves in 2024 and has a 2025 full of releases: on Chloe Caillet’s label, Smiile; on Semi Delicious; on Barry Can’t Swim’s new label, Earth’s Only Paradise; and now on Heist. He has been touring relentlessly, playing legendary venues like Pikes in Ibiza, Shelter in Amsterdam, and with scheduled appearances at Warehouse Project and in Australia. Everything indicates that things are going in the best direction for him.

The Time Selection EP opens with Yes I Am, an energetic house track with many nods to old-school, playful vocals, and, above all, beautiful piano work. It’s minimalistic but full of energy, with 909 percussion, retro flutes, and a rolling bassline. It works both as a breather within a set and a peak mid-session highlight.

Move Over, featuring ELY's vocals, takes D Stone deeper into vintage house territory, with a classic bassline and percussion faithful to the sound of original drum machines, evoking both the electro-pop of New Order and the futurism of early Mr. Fingers releases. The vocals are bold and charming at the same time, perfectly capturing the nostalgia of early 90s pop-house tracks.

Time Selection is probably the most powerful cut on the record, in line with his breakout track Total Unison. It's built around a powerful piano motif, with 909 drums, strings, and disco flashes that keep the track accessible and uplifting. Add a great breakdown and you'll understand why we've been turning to this track for the most intense moments in our sets for months.

On the B-side, One Thing is a subtle and introverted track, built on a bouncy disco bassline and a hook that might seem silly on first listen but will have you humming all day. In short, a hit in disguise.

The EP's final track, Everything from the Organ, unashamedly showcases D Stone's love for classic rave elements. There are organs, brass, and clipped vocals that transport you straight to the left front of any dancefloor where D Stone is reigning.

Don't sleep on this debut from one of Amsterdam's biggest talents, because this record is going to fly. As always, enjoy the music and turn it up!
