D'Julz - Raw Toolz 1 [Chiwax]

D’Julz is one of those producers you can always rely on to get the job done. His sounds are built for DJs and dancers: they lay down a raw groove and keep you locked in without resorting to fleeting fads or cheap drops. His latest release on Chiwax is another gem from the Frenchman, kicking off with the blunt, minimalist, lo-fi approach of “Murky,” followed by “Ruff,” which brings scuffed, heavily swinging rhythms. “Jackie” adopts an old-school sound that pays homage to original Chicago house, while “Raw” maintains a deep and precise focus with a shadowy bassline and multiple haunting melodic touches.
