COEO are to Toy Tonics what Masters at Work were to the 90s house scene: they bring soul back to house.

Their new EP, Back In The Days, is a stunning four-track house work that could have been made in 1997 by artists like DJ Sneak, Dimitri from Paris, or Little Louie Vega.

But at the same time, the similarities with the new Berlin sample-house scene around Max Graef and Hodini are also evident.

Their big hit from last year, Native Riddim (included as a bonus track on this vinyl), already incorporated strong jazz samples they found in their parents' soul collection. Native Riddim was number 1 on the Traxsource charts for several weeks and served as the basis for their huge following today.

From Laurent Garnier to Tensnake, the response has been incredible. Now they continue their journey into soulful house. Simply good taste.
