Cinthie is one of the most respected figures in the underground house scene and has been for well over a decade. Her approach to the genre always puts the groove first. It is inspired by the classics but has a contemporary edge and has landed on both 803 Crystal Grooves and cult labels like Aus Music and Heist. As a DJ, she mixes records from her vast collection with equal parts style and technique, and now she also performs live, offering improvised jams with her collection of hardware.

After several remixes this year, the head of the Elevate. Berlin record store is back with a new release, just three days before her birthday. As a treat to herself, she is relaunching her label after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, caused by pressing plant delays during the pandemic.

The opening track, ‘You Know How,’ is a joyful, hands-in-the-air piano house anthem. Classic, well-placed vocal samples add an old-school vibe, while the textured bass adds a hefty weight to this timeless gem. The excellent ‘Mellifluous’ cruises along on smooth beats as waves of synths wash over the track. They bring warmth and good vibes in a subtle and dynamic way, wrapping dancers in a journey full of euphoria. Lastly, ‘Can You’ moves with an irresistible swing, marked kicks, and dry, raw claps. It’s a physical house sound, with clipped vocal snippets and an enveloping bass that creates a huge impact.
