Charlotte de Witte - Apollo EP [KNTXT]

Belgian techno powerhouse Charlotte de Witte has released a new EP entitled Apollo, set to come out on her own KNTXT label.

An uncompromising collection of club-ready tracks, Apollo opens with Missing Channel, a turbocharged acid techno cut pairing forceful kick drum thumps with characteristic 303 squelches. The title track then takes the music into warehouse techno territories, juxtaposing crushing kicks with ethereal, ghostly vocals, while Mercury cultivates a striking interstellar energy. To close, PPC is by far the most experimental track on the record, a brilliant, beatless creation adorned with samples of space transmissions.

"The vastness and solitude of space has always interested me. A fascinating contrast between monumental power and the emptiness in between,” Charlotte explains. “This contrast can also be found in techno music, a pure simplicity diverging in power.”

Charlotte de Witte has become known for her dark and minimalist brand of techno, acid, and all things high-energy. She frequently crosses boundaries, but maintains a deep respect for the underground scene.
