Chingos de Changos is the latest project from Carlos Metta, a producer from Mexico City, sound artist, and multi-instrumentalist whose work relies heavily on found sounds and field recordings, always approaching music from a marginal and experimental perspective.

This project is the result of hundreds of hours of recordings made around the world (some under quite suspicious circumstances), collected by Carlos with a portable recorder and a pair of very small microphones that allowed him to access places and sounds that otherwise could not have been captured. These elements were then combined with a wide variety of instruments such as sitar, darbuka, udu, and a collection of synthesizers and percussion instruments from different parts of the world, resulting in a maximalist explosion of rhythms and tracks that could be the soundtrack to an old Bollywood movie, a desert chase, or a club in Berlin.
