London's very own techno outsider, Andrea Greco, aka Burden, breaks free from the well-worn techno EP format with his first full-length album for Planet Rhythm, titled The Circle's End. A paradoxical name that makes sense in practice: here are six long-form endurance tests. “Bewitched” and “Long Coming” pull us in with smooth yet steely-nerved undercurrents, followed by a trick-filled eponymous track, topped off by what sounds like a modular synthetic light show taken to its limits. “Probe” bends the trajectory with an unpredictable turn towards a punchy and enigmatic FX design, with a clear rhythmic focus; “Optimism Of The Will” and “Rite” push this tonal shift even further into a distinctly tribal denouement.
