**SHORT BIOGRAPHY**
Bronski Beat's 1984 debut album, *The Age of Consent*, is a rarity in musical history: a record that defined a whole generation and challenged the status quo. Its four singles, especially the iconic 'Smalltown Boy', have endured with astonishing resonance, offering solace to all those listeners who dream of escaping their environments and family situations.

Each track on the album transports the listener *into the room*: they are there, living it, immersing themselves in the thematic meaning of each song. Through Jimmy Somerville's innocent gaze and vocal acrobatics, they also feel the sting of hatred in 'Why?', question the Bible alongside a male choir in 'It Ain’t Necessarily So', and see the same boring advertisement in 'Junk'. They become part of the exchange between desire and commerce in 'Love and Money' and the intense climax in 'Need A Man Blues'.
