Phantasy is proud to present Greek duo Boys' Shorts with their debut EP on the label, Athena. The project of music lovers Vangelis and Tareq, Boys’ Shorts' sound has helped redefine the timeless strands of disco, house, and Italo within the European queer underground, with an equally charismatic energy reflected in their collaborations for labels such as Live at Robert Johnson, Permanent Vacation, and Polari.

Boys' Shorts' appearance on Phantasy arrives with their most ambitious and accomplished songwriting to date. Featuring a rare vocal performance from beloved DJ and cosmic disco expert Budino, alongside Elisa Paradiso, the lead track Summer's Here and Summer's Missing recounts a sun-drenched romance that is cut short prematurely. The duo's delicate and bittersweet synthesis entwines with Budino's Italian lyrics, gently beating for closure – or at least prolonged pleasure – throughout a night at a Balearic discotheque.

Under those same burning lights, Boys' Shorts delve further with the oscillations of Stereo on Acid, where classic 808 sounds, tremulous and soulful, flirt with a bassline that vibrates like Athens' downtown traffic on a sweltering afternoon. Reflecting the city's hidden pleasures and authentic underground culture after dark, the EP's title track, Athena, is a sensual and sophisticated groove, with an epic yet understated touch, capable of accompanying a future party as much as centuries of ancient history.
