Cardiff-based production duo Bodhi return to Hotflush Recordings with a follow-up to last year’s standout Laurus Ascending extended player.

After emerging in 2012 with a string of hotly received edits and subsequent releases on labels including Future Classic and Rinse, the duo took a 4-year hiatus in 2017, returning in 2022 with a refreshed sound. Recent releases on Hotflush and dh2 have once again placed the duo at the forefront of the UK’s most cutting edge music scene.

Corrupta consists of six tracks of rhythmic science with bass and garage influences. The opener, dwndwn, sets the tone with a genuine “wtf” moment on the drop of the beat. That vibe continues on the shuffling Silian Rail.

The floor filler Okinobi pays homage to the recent resurgence of Speed Garage, while T.O.P. is a classic example of 2-step bassline pressure. Bodhi’s techno influences also come through with the electro breaks hybrid of Without You and the 8 a.m. Berghain vibes on Bellcurve.

This is another long-form statement from some of the most inventive club producers around right now.
