Utilising rough, vintage sounding rhythmic sections as bedrock, each track gradually builds its own lush melodic adornments — “Circles” stays true to its name with a cyclical lead melody, murky sub and blurry house pads, while “NRG106” features spacious, dramatic chords and whispered vocals against insistent, chirping machine percussion.

As usual, these two esteemed bloggers / DJs / artists / polymaths prove themselves paragons of good taste, but it’s clear here that they’re also steadily growing as producers, taking on different styles with dexterity and making it all seem far easier than it really is.
